HISTORIC EVENTS
ASSOCIATED WITH THROCKMORTONS
Where do we even begin? I'll
try to add some information over time but here's some starters:
THE
THROCKMORTON FAMILY REUNION IN WILLIAMSBURG, VIRGINIA – JUNE 2002
THROCKMORTON
2000 -
It was great. The outstanding U.S. team (many warm thanks!) has put
together comments, reports of the event (Aug. 8, 2000). Check Col. Robert W.
Throckmorton's homecoming site comments by clicking: HOMECOMING
PAGE.
This page also links to
genealogy form information.
Reunion photos, including
official group photo, can be seen at:

Several cousins were interviewed for
local TV (Birmingham, England). A tape search was done and I located
this newscast at Broadcast Monitoring Company.
GUNPOWDER PLOT Coughton
Court, while leased to the Digbys, had a role in the escape of the plotters.
This was a conspiracy to blow up the English Parliament and James I on Nov.
5, 1605. An uprising of English Catholics followed. Throckmorton
grandchildren (Tresham and Catesby) were among the accused. On Nov. 5, Guy
Fawkes Day is celebrated with merrymaking. For more information, click on to

THROCKMORTON PLOT Francis
Throckmorton was arrested in November 1583
by
Sir Francis Walsingham’s agents. Read about it here:
